Glittering mountains, meadows of snow crystals, frozen lakes for skating, ice rinks and curling sheets can be found everywhere here in winter. You will also have time in the Bavarian Forest to build a snowman, have a snowball fight with your children or go for a sleigh ride.

There was a real ice age here 10,000 years ago and remnants like the idyllic lakes at the Arber and Rachel, can still be seen today. You can even find a copy of a ‘real’ ice age cave – at the animal enclosures at the Haus zur Wildnis in Ludwigsthal.
