Skiing / Snowboarding

Skiing is particularly pleasurable in the Bavarian Forest National Park Region – you will find here one of the few uncrowded but still attractive skiing areas! Well prepared pistes and reasonable prices are perfect conditions especially for beginners and families.
The ski schools in the National Park Region will make you an individual offer – from from caring courses for children to adult advanced courses to individual lessons for special training. Skis and snowboards are available for hire almost everywhere!
For snowboarders the National Park Region has everything from flat pistes for getting started to Fun Parks with rails and kickers.
The Bavarian Forest National Park Region is bordered by 2 big skiing areas:
Skiing area Großer Arber
Great Arber
The Great Arber, with its 1,456 metres is the highest mountain and therefore the ‚King of the Bavarian Forest’. There is a family chair lift as well as the black World Cup run, which hosts races between the best women skiers in the world every few years. And there are also panoramic views of the Bavarian and Bohemian Forests!
