Art Glass

There are not only glasses to drink out of in the Bavarian Forest. Artists have been using glass for a long time. The Bavarian Forest is one of the birthplaces of the studio glass movement as you can see for yourself. Glass galleries exhibit glass objects from the region but also from elsewhere in Europe and the USA. The Bild-Werk summer school in Frauenau offers workshops in which you can be creative yourself alongside famous artists. Many glass artists and craftsmen in the Bavarian Forest open their workshops to curious visitors. Glasses are polished, engraved, painted – so beautifully, that in the end you cannot say which is the most beautiful.
