Discover the old wooden forest houses, blackened by the centuries. Admire the patrician villas of the former glass works owners or the historic houses in the old towns of the National Park Region. There are also old monasteries, impressive churches, castle ruins shrouded in legend and chateaux waiting for curious visitors.
Characteristic of this area are the many natural monuments, for example, ancient avenues of trees, special rock formations or the centuries old moors and meadows in the Bavarian Forest National Park. The foresters used to graze their cows there; today they seem like magic islands in a sea of forest.
